GLEN AVON STUD COMMENCED IN STONEVILLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, IN 1974.

The Welsh Mountain Mare, Rhyl Pale Moon, was acquired in 1976. She was in foal to Belvoir Zechin (imp) and the cream Section B filly Glen Avon Claire De Lune was born. This pony was to prove an extremely well performed pony winning many supreme awards under saddle. We still have one of her descendants in the stud - Glen Avon Clara (Section B) and Glen Avon Stoatley (section A)

During the same year we acquired the brown Section B colt Eelah Caradog from Jannys McDonald in New South Wales and thus began a span of 28 years breeding and showing Section B Welsh Ponies and Riding Ponies. Caradog was by Coed Coch Branas(imp) out of Rawthey Wishing Well(imp) and we found that he crossed extremely well with Thoroughbred mares and some of these ponies were sold all over Australia during the ensuing years.

During this time we still owned the Section A mare Rhyl Pale Moon and the stud has retained her last foal, Glen Avon Stoatley. The grand-dam of Rhyl Pale Moon was Stoatley Blue Moon hence name for this last foal. It is well known that the Stoatley Stud produced many performance animals, particularly in harness and this mare has certainly passed this attribute on to her progeny. Stoatley's son Glen Avon Jackman  was a colt class winner at 2011 and 2012 All Welsh is now sold to Keith Langan for a future in driving.
